QF is better than EY for bed. Just something to think about. What's the point in a bed and a seat if you can't have both of them at the same time? If you make your bed on EY apartments you can't sit in the seat. Bottom line IMO QF is better.
Of course you can sit while the bed is made in EY apartment, why would you suggest otherwise?

If the space between the seat and bed is too narrow for your feet, you can just keep it up on the bed

You can sit but you can't stretch out unless you place your feet on the bed. Also the bed doesn't recline as much IIRC.

Well, why can't you place your feet on the bed? You mean the seat doesn't recline much, the bed doesn't recline at all

Doesn't QF F have a mattress?

They have a seat that turns in to a bed like on an EY 77W. However QF padding I would say is more comftorable.

So tables turned. When QF is in bed mode, you need to wait for the flight attendant to remove the mattress in order to sit, on Etihad you could do both.

Ok we can go back and forth all day. My experience with QF was much better than EY especially they arranged a lounge for me now while I'm in transit to a BA flight in Y.

Inaccurate.

Fine. We'll let it slide this time.

Sounds like a heck of a routing. All EY there and all QF back?
Where do you see F Guest availability on A380? I checked many dates and cannot find a single seat (only on 77). I can't even find Guest J on A380.

Was looking at LHR-AUH.
Anyway, more interested now in AUH-IAD F during August (on 787). Seems like ALL F is blocked out during summer (July-Aug). I can find F quite consistently in June and September, but not one date in July-August. I have checked at Saver and and Freedom levels and on many flights there are 8 seats available (the entire cabin!) but no Guest F available, which means they are simply not releasing F seats at the moment for summer travel on that route. Do you see something different?

I haven't checked, but I did just book two seats IAD-AUH in F in September.

But Guest must be open.

Are there any sweet spots in the EY program that makes it worth transferring w the 25% bonus?

Well, the 25% bonus puts them in line with AA.

However, EY just recently had 25% off of redemptions... so combining the 25% bonus and the 25% discount, one could theoretically get a one-way USA-AUH for ~68K EY (or a round-trip for 113K SPG).

Is a 50 minute connection in AUH enough time to connect from EY to EY?
(In other words, do you need to clear customs and passport control on a connection?)

If the flight is delayed you have a problem. So if you have to get somewere important, I would say cutting close
If its one ticket, so Etihad has to rebook you. If its 2 tickets then you are a no show on second flight and screwed
