What sort of questions did immigration ask you on arrival at IKA, like were you in israel? Or more like are you married and have a job?.

Lying when being questioned, "Have you been to israel?"

On the Visa form they ask you to list all countries Visited.

Logging in to your email or social media account can be very dangerous, the state department warns:

" Iranian security personnel may at times place foreign visitors under surveillance. Hotel rooms, telephones, and fax machines may be monitored, and personal possessions in hotel rooms may be searched. Photography near military and other government installations is strictly prohibited and could result in serious criminal charges, including espionage, which carries the death penalty."

I opened a new Gmail address right before I left, but unfortunately Iran blocked access to Gmail at the time .

I made up with my wife that when I call she shouldn't ask me if I'm scared or tell me that she is scared or anything like that.

Any mention of Israel or any talk of Iranian politics can bring espionage charges against you.

Photography in the wrong place can get you in to deep trouble.

Also, state department warns:

"U.S. citizens may be subject to harassment or arrest while traveling or residing in Iran.  Since 2009, Iranian authorities have prevented the departure, in some cases for several months, of a number of Iranian-American citizens, including journalists and academics, who traveled to Iran for personal or professional reasons."

I left out Israel from countries visited, and luckily I wasn't asked again when being questioned.

What was the reaction of USA costumes arriving back to the USA? Did they realize where you were coming from?

Sounds strange. They knew you were Jewish and i assume you had a long list of countries visited but they didn't ask you if you visited Israel?

Believe it or not, I came back from Israel.

On return I did IKA-IFN-dxb-IST-TLV

So the question would be: did Israeli security harass me?

Actually, not as bad as I thought, my wife met up with me in the airport in TLV,( decided to end this trip with a good vacation)
she was scheduled to arrive a half an hour later than me, I told her I will notify her when I depart Istanbul, and if she does not hear from me in Tel Aviv after an hour past her arrival , means that I'm probably being questioned (I was prepared for the worst, I was prepared for every scenario possible ) and she should go straight to her sisters house by taxi and I'll be in touch with her.
Luckily She didn't end up having to wait, and we spent 5 days in Israel, we spent shabbos in Yerushalaim then headed to Eilat .

Israeli security was more in awe then suspicious, the guy could not get over the fact that I was in Iran, he called in someone else from airport security for questioning, and she let me go after 2 minutes.

US immigration was also surprised when I listed countries visited, but only asked what were you doing there? And asked me some additional questions out of interest and let me go.

No.  I arrived 2 to 3 a.m probably not the best English speakers And there was also a language barrier, possibly that being what spared me from the question

I didn't really do anything wrong, I didn't lie, if I would have been asked I would have told him the truth, it doesn't say anywhere that if you have visited Israel you won't be allowed in, but it's known that if you have an israeli stamp in your passport, don't even try . I made a new passport before I left

And what if they put you in jail for no reason
