Hershel's TR To Iran

February 2012.

JFK -DXB- IKA

Took EK economy A380  (Pre DDF days)
Was one of my best economy class flights and one of the best IFE.

Stop in DXB was for 2hrs

DXB - IKA was with the A330.

Arrived in IKA 3.10am

after arrival, security took me to a room and took my fingerprint, given that I'm a USA citizen, and asked me a bunch of questions, the whole process took no longer than 30 minutes.

After that I picked up my suitcase, without any additional security checks, they didn't even open my suitcase.

I had a driver taking me to the Persian Azadi Hotel.

2012 was worse than today, those were the days when Israel threatened military action against its nuclear facilities, and Ahmadinijad was president. So, yes.

Some reacted in surprise and in awe , others were cold, and suspicious or (afraid)

Officially there is one Kosher restaurant, but didn't eat there, the kosher standards were very low for me, most people eating there were none Jewish

How did you know how to find the synagogue's? i heard it is a very secretive locations
