Considering that Satmar Rebbes where honored many times at Chabad Palm Springs, I don't see this at earth shattering, though I will admit that it's something I would have never though I would see.

The question is if the shliach eats food made in his kitchen...

Korn's bread had both CHK and CRC on it for years.

I believe you're confusing them with Beigel's.
(unless Korn's also has them?)

It's a pure clever business decision. Palm springs is full of Satmars and the rav wants their business that's all.

Anybody knows of any decent rentals in the Rancho Mirage neighborhood? In the past I saw many closer to Palm springs on Airbnb, but now I don't see anything decent.

I assume you want to be close to the Chabad there.  I couldn't find any that close to chabad

Hello all on DDF Palm Springs forum.

So I recently returned from the Westin Desert Willow Villas.  If you read my TR on Palm Springs from 2018, you know that I stayed at the JW that time, so I would like to compare the 2 here.

Long story short, in recent years, much like many of us here on the forums, I became a bit of a Westin snob.  I tried booking by the other Palm Desert westin, but yeshiva week was all booked up, so I booked desert willow.
Pros-Clean, quiet, large grounds with many pools, convenient location
Cons-preferential treatment given to those who are Westin vacation club members, room is only cleaned if you stay over 7 days, they will not give you a roll away bed unless you are in the larger villa though the smaller one has more than enough space, you can hear street traffic from some porches (though not from the front of the buildings)

Overall, JW was a better experience considering there was daily house keeping, views were slightly better, lobby attendants were a little nicer and there was a spa.
The better parts about the Westin, more pools, better for Shabbos, getting to your car from your room/to your room from your car.

By no means am I bashing the Westin, I just think I would rather go to a different hotel if I were to ever return

Not officially. But this past winter Chabad of PS opened a sort of pop-up restaurant inside the shul every night with multiple mains and sides, costing from $25-$60 (?) depending on what main you took. It wasn't really advertised and the menu is somewhat unpredictable and they can run out of things if you come later, but we ate there one night and enjoyed it a lot.

I think this was their first time doing it, and if they make it more organized with advertising and set menus and perhaps pre-ordering, it would definitely move PS up as a winter destination (which I actually hope doesn't happen - let everyone else go to FL and leave PS for us non-foodies).

Wow. Does the Rabbi in the video carry a gun with him? It seems he has his hand on one ready to pull out when he goes to investigate the noise.

What a nes that no one was there that moment, it could have been tragic.
