I need someone to design a paint scheme for the airplane that I have attached. Aircraft paint normally follow a certain format, and I need someone to design.

Old plane, overworked pilot.

Personally I had fun and I would (and have) recommend it for anyone who wants the experience of a discovery flight for cheaper than anything else out there.

So when I called them up to make an appointment, they told me the hour ground school is really just about 10 minutes, is there anything else that I should expect like that, is the flying time shorter too?

Did you ask them about flying time? Expect that the term "flying time" includes at least from the moment the engine starts till when it shuts down. That means it may be 10-15 minutes from startup to takeoff and 5 minutes or more from landing till shutdown and you will get only 40-45 minutes of actual flying time. These rental companies need to find ways to save money. They may even include time walking to the plane or doing a preflight checkup as flying time. I know it sounds (and, in my opinion, is) unethical. But the way they see it, you're getting the flight for much cheaper than their regular customers and they have no duty to give you exactly what you pay for. BTW, my instructor refused to use his plane to give "Intro Flights" because he felt it wasn't right to his regular customers to charge one-time thrill-seekers so much less just for promotional purposes. I don't think this was great business practice either but he didn't really care since he had enough customers.

Interesting point. But that doesn't excuse an outright misleading of writing 1 hour ground school, and when I call up, they say it is actually 10 min.

I'm not making excuses for them and G-d knows I find many of these flight schools to be morally substandard, but they probably feel nobody cares that much about ground school. Most people taking an intro flight want to fly. If you want ground school, btw, there are excellent free resources all over the web. Youtube alone is a treasure trove.

It actually ended up being longer than an hour but that's because there was "traffic" coming in for landing and the tower sent us on an aerial tour of the North Shore.

Nice. Our coupon is for 90 minutes of flying time, 45 minutes per person.

If it's more than 1 person I think they land somewhere in Connecticut to switch.

At the end of the day, if it's your first flight, even if they jip you on some time, you're going to enjoy it very much!

True, and I got it for only $68 for 2 people, plus fuel surcharge of $20.

Great deal no matter what amount of time you get. If you each fly for a half hour, you're talking $44 pp including some ground school and an instructor. Can't beat that.

Right, though FRG is a good hour shlepp too.

It'll be worthwhile. I used to do that drive every time I wanted to fly. Admittedly, it is one of the reasons I don't plan on flying from FRG anymore.
