Why would you waste the time looking through YWN comments... :-\
I barely read YWN (I hate the amount of ads!!!), so I'm not professional enough to know not to touch the comments. Lesson learned

Ever hear of AdBlock Plus? I'm not saying it's worthwhile to get it just for YWN, but it works really well and makes browsing quite a bit more tolerable.

Only reason to take YWN comments seriously is if you are really trying to work on your Sinas Chinam (take that as you wish).

Last I checked ABP didn't block half of their ads. It's pretty much impossible since their ads don't use a regular syndicate like Google Ads or the like, it's their Heimishe thing, so ABP is useless in that situation (same with VIN)

BTW I use ABP and uBlock

I just checked. I saw no ads. Once in a while, I get a small ad on the side. That's not too bad. When I open YWN on someone else's computer and they don't have ABP, I almost have a heart attack. They are pretty ridiculous with their ads.

I am thinking of buying a 2nd aeroplane and starting a  hamish flight school. Who would support this? I just met about the 15th yid today at work that wants to learn how to fly. My aeroplane is strictly aerobatic but I am thinking of buying maybe a piper warrior that was damaged and having my mechanic fixing it up. It would be based at KFWN Sussex NJ. I would work out transportation for those that need it.

Let me know your thoughts.

Sounds like a great idea. FWN is way too far from Brooklyn though. Hope this works out for anyone interested.

Sounds awesome though I'm not sure how good of a business idea. I just don't think the frum market is big enough to support such a thing. Of the 15 guys who told you this how many are ready to put down the $10-20K needed to get their private?

10k for a private? Wow that's a lot.  Much less. Less me figure this, I need a few days.
The aircraft may cost 15k after fixed.

It's not 10-20K. Even without the idea of yidsimple fixing up a plane and total being $15K. A decent plane costs about 50-60K and can be financed. A good used plane can be 100K and can also be financed. If you have 15 people interested, even without financing, you get a good old (late 70s) plane and you can even fit it with decent avionics and/or get an ipad. It'll be a great option that is definitely cheaper than most other options. Just one piece of advice, and I'm sure yidsimple has thought of this, it makes good sense to incorporate and make it a club. Doesn't even have to have open membership. I'm curious what ramp and hangar parking cost in Sussex.

With 50-60k I can buy 3 damaged aircraft. Let me figure this out. I keep meeting people in shul and at work that want to fly. I have a mechanic finishing my aerobatic airplane and I am learning about 337's which most people want to avoid because of the $$$ involved. You can pick up a damaged airplane for peanuts. I want to do this and recertify via 337.

BTW, I already have a hangar in Sussex.

Maybe I was getting ahead of myself 15k is a little low, but the right deal can be very close.

I understand. The $50-$60k was referring to a decent plane in good working and aesthetic condition. BTW, any idea if there are insurance differences between damaged and working aircraft? I have no clue but just something I thought of.

The insurance will be the same as a normal aircraft, because when the airplane is complete it'll be as if it was in working condition.

OK. With aviation insurance companies, you never know whether they look at maint logs or have other criteria. That's why I asked.
