BYOK Master Thread: Bring Your Own KSML To Be Warmed Up Onboard

I've been successful every time I've tried. I've tried:

EY
OZ
EK

Question:

I know Dan has not had luck on CX. Is that crew-dependent, or airline dependent? I.e. Has anyone had success with BYOK on CX?

When having success, does that mean they heated things up for you. Did they serve you etc.?

What defines "success" essentially?

I can add to the unsuccessful attempts on CX
I remember when a coke was a nickel, and you could buy VRs in OD.

Perhaps it's easier to define "unsuccessful":

You ask them to heat up your BYOK and they say, "no."

I can add to the unsuccessful attempts on CX

Ugh. What did they say when they turned you down?

Perhaps we should start a wiki.

I was successful on CX but had to nudge a lot

There are few things more annoying than hearing CX flight attendants repeat the whole "Rules and Restrictions clearly state......."

I once had them call the American pilot to the cabin because they told me that their rules and restrictions didn't allow me face the carseat "backwards" when it clearly stated that it was a rear-facing carseat

CX is the worst when it come to rules.
Very car seat unfriendly.
Very BYOK unfriendly.

They say CX rules don't allow them to heat up a KSML. I've gone 1-4 when begging.

Only other airline that caused any issues was US.  Every other airline has been a pleasure with BYOK.

Well, my outbound is 15 hours long JFK-HKG in CX F... you think it's not worth even trying to BYOK?

Bring something edible either way and report back. Chinese food?

CX is the worst when it come to rules.
Very car seat unfriendly.

AZ also didn't allow me to take a car seat on board FCO-TLV, no matter what. Whereis DL on my return, just take it onbroad, they didn't even come check if it was fastened... When I went to ask a FA how to secure it, she said that it needs to be in the windows seat, and just put the regular belt over. Well, DL didn't give me a lifevest when AZ gave me one...

Good q. I imagine that deli sandwiches would be an easier sell then heating something up, but who knows.

I was planning on bringing Chinese anyway; but Chinese is much, much better hot IMO.
