I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that there are different opinions...

That thread seems to be zigzagging between topics. So I figured we'd have one with a clear topic.

There are conflicting opinions as to the mokom hamikdash. I wonder if R Goren held that the mosque is not the kodesh hakodoshim as supposedly he entered the mosque.

There's actually a fascinating shaila of why we don't bring a korban pesach bizman hateh. By korban pesach we pasken that hakrava is not meakev and you don't need a mizbeach. All it need is shchita b'eazara. Since Tuma mes is hutra bitzibur, and one can easily remedy the other tumos, we technically can and should be bringing a korban pesach bizman hazeh.

Now while there might be external reasons for us not to go on har habayis even though there is no issur medina, and I personally strongly dislike the fact that people go up bizman hazeh, if we take our personal feelings out for a minute and look at the facts, in Jewish history we never see that they stopped being makriv korbanos for fear of incitement. It's truly an interesting shaila for those who are willing to look into all the halachos involved

Everyone agrees you can go into Har Habeis.
Everyone agree you cannot go into the Azara. (Unless you are makriv a karban or similar chiyuv)

The only question is if you can rely on the various shitos about where is the Har Habais and not the Azara. Part of the question is hashkaficaly if there is enough of a reason to go there to get into the safek.

Interestingly, even R Goren when determining the area of the azara uses Chazon Ish midos lechumra. I highly doubt he was makpid on that elsewhere, just a testament to the potential severity and the lack of necessity to rely on tzad heter.

+1, though for arguments sake it has nothing to do with the shaila of going into Har Habeis.

It is beyond debate that we are makriv karbanos even betuamah, so the same exact questions of wether or not we should be makriv bzman hazeh would apply even if we were tahor.

AFAIK Korban Pesach is the only korban that mizbeach is not me'eakev.

While you are correct that the shaila is has nothing to do with a shaila of tuma, it is m'inyan l'inyan, and like bias har habayis, it is also a common misconception that the issue is tumei mes

Perhaps, the Rambam's view of Korbonois plays a role here.

My Rav just gave a whole schmooze on this topic. One of the things he mentioned was at one point there was a shul on the temple mount. It's not so clear cut and when someone ask "Are you or are you not allowed" and his response was, it's not an easy answer to give, technically there are some parts you are allowed and you must know where that line is that you can't cross.

The Ami article on the topic dwelled alot on a Tvul Yom not going up until after sundown, according to Rashi. Tosfos argue on this. Anybody have more info on how we pasken about Tumas Meis and Tvul Yom? Are you tahor right after going or you have to wait until night time?
