1) I don't know. I imagine only over the phone.
2) KE can book UA flights, so you just need to find Saver availability on UA.com (but you should make sure to be logged out of your UA account if you have a UA CC as partners can only book regular Saver seats but not special Saver seats that get released to UA CC holders).
3) I don't know about Y, but J is 60K RT. Keep in mind that from JFK, there is no direct flight.
For one, NYC-Hawaii in J is 60K RT on UA as opposed to 80K with UA miles or 70K with LH miles.

Don't know more, but read the DDMS post about 30 things you can do with KE, and I'm sure you'll see a few more things.
Nope. KE cannot book UA.

Ah!! Is that SQ I'm thinking of? Someone who clearly hasn't flown any of the Asian airlines is confusing them...

Trying to discern between the millions of Delta type awards available. In order to book on DL metal using KE, which award or "name" is the correct one.
