Just completed a stay at the la meridian Versailles for shabat. It was ok. Lobby was small with a bar. Rooms were spacious but mattresses were shorter then usual for some strange reason... Location is great though. In the heart of downtown Montreal. Quite a distance from Jewish area.. 15 min drive or so but still about a 20 min walk to baggs street shul and 10 min to chabad.

Mont-Tremblant is about 1.5 hours from YUL.

I am trying to decide whether to stay in the W or the Ritz Carlton. I have not seen any reviews of the RC, anyone stay there?

Also, thinking about go mid july any attractions for wife and I to do (no kids).

Two very diff experiences.  From what I recall, Ritz is very old school, probably not consistent with the quality you expect from RC brand, also location is a bit farther from downtown.  W is of course more "hip" and located more centrally to downtown...

Really? I saw that they put 200MM into the RC for a renovation in 2012. I would guess it is pretty updated. Has anyone stayed there that can report back?
