I’m sure it has been asked here already, but…
Could I cross land border into Canada & then back into the US with just a birth certificate for a baby?
I’m in shape, round is a shape…

How are the car rentals in YUL? Is it close by to arrivals/departures or you need to take a shuttle? Is generally renting a car a good idea or is Uber/Lyft the better choice in Montreal? Staying in town.

Car rentals at YUL are very easy, just across the street from the arrivals, 5 minute walk.
Prices are not expensive in general, but it depends how far in city you need to go how much you plan on commuting.

Also remember that most street/highway signs are in French. Driving on highways might be a bit challenging, but WAZE should help with that..

Walking in the slushy lot to fetch your car is a bit outdated, would be nicer to have an indoor walking path to the rental desk. Also, when returning it's a quite long walk to the domestic/US airlines check-in area.

You definitely gotta be more focused than when driving here in the states. Also, NY'ers are no longer used to drive in heavy snow, although given that all rental cars have snow tires that made it much easier.

I've crossed the border near St Albans a number of times. Don't really find driving different than in the US.

I guess you get used to it. Google maps readout was also not the same, IINM it gives only the highway number but what you instinctively see on the sign is the larger name of neighborhood/intersection.
