Adding to the Montreal thread......

I'm surprised no one mentioned the dairy patisery (breakfast lunch restaurant) Exception. They have a good breakfast special menu served till 2 pm. They are next door to chez Benny which is a good option for fast food fleshig. If you like chez Benny but want to try something slightly different (but same idea) try the grill located in the kosher hotel on decarie and plamondon. Pizza pita us a great option for pizza and dairy.

There's a new restaurant, Chops, I ate there once and wasn't terribly impressed but people like it and it's upscale. The automatically include an 18% tip even for a party of 2.

Ernie's and eli's is alright mid-range restaurant. I think the policy for all you can it isthst everyone at the table had to order it (that helps them avoid sharing issues).

Yakimono is a must, great sushi place never disappoints (at least that's my experience).

There are other restaurants but these are the ones I frequent and they cover the range of what you'd need while traveling.
Also a bagel shop off of Jean Talon I think it's called royal bagel, try their hot cinnamon bagel with their blueberry cream cheese (the last few times i couldnt get it cause either they were outofthe bagels or cream cheese ;(.

For deli take out (bakery/grocery/deli) there's kosher quality on Victoria and bourett they have amazing challah ( I would say the best in the world but everyone has the best challah in the world from their home town).

For a great bakery and if you want to buy a nice cake for your shabbos host check out westminister gourmet on westminster in cote-st-luc.

Chezkies has been mentioned somewhere else in forums they also have good naming mezoines.

Gave my opinion on Montreal eateries here:
http://www.dansdeals.com/archives/6370

I didn't mention Exception which I thought was not exceptional but was just OK.  And neither of the kosher hotel eateries are anything to write home about.

It's about 20 minutes from YUL to the restaurants on Decarie, such as Pizza Pita.
http://www.dansdeals.com/archives/6370

Or if you're a Sushi guy then head right to Yakimono, also on Decarie.

Do you think there would be time to take a cab there and back?
We land at 1:45 pm and our flight is at 5 pm

Sure, if you're flight arrives on time you can leave the airport at 2-2:15 (luggage stays) and you can easily be back by 3. Even if you get there at 4 you're OK. If you checked luggage and already have a boarding pass from the earlier flight you really have no reason to be there earlier.

For all of you that have Sprint, It’s a problem to use it in Canada,(Niagara on the Canadian side) you can be charged 59 Cents per minute (unless you sign up with a plan then its 20 Cents). Since Niagara is so close to the USA, if you set your phone that it should NOT roam, then it will most likely find a Sprint tower, and if you are in Canada and it picks up a Sprint tower there is no charge, it’s like making and receiving a call in the USA.

dan,
It's not going to work all the way to Montreal, It only works for the first 5 to 10 miles after the border, after that it wont be able to pick up any Sprint towers, but i would imagine in Niagra since it's so close to the border it should work on the Canadian side.

Watch out for traffic in Toronto.  From Cleveland best to stay on 90E until Syracuse, then north on 81 over the Thousand Island bridge.

Anyone know of a upscale Dairy restaurant that has nice ambiance? Nice place for dessert?
