HI

We are 5 adults and need 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
Where would you suggest staying where it would be nice to walk around and a nice place to stay and sit around and talk in the room/suites.  Anyone ever stay at Candlewood Suites?  How was it?

We are trying to stay in walking distance of the Bagg Shul.  Is it frum?  Does it really exist? What area would make sense to stay near?

Also what sites and types of activities would be good for this time of year and are very Montreal-ish?  Or great in and of themselves.  We plan to do an underground walk.
Is the Bio-dome good?

Also went through the "eating your way through Montreal" and am wondering if all the places are open still.  Like Mediterraneo Steakhouse.
Great reviews on there BTW.

We just came back from Montreal, we’re fans. We rented an Airbnb house which was great for shabbos, since we had a kitchen and could get in and out no problem, and we went to the Bagg St. shul, which was about 30 min walk away. It’s a small shul, definitely still exists, definitely frum. They’re nusach sfard and had a nice kiddush after, although that might depend on the week. But they’re only open for shabbos day, no other times during the week. In general, when looking for where to stay, I’d suggest taking the metro map into consideration. Their subways and busses are clean and on time, and in particular the subways are quick and warm way of getting all over town.

There are a ton of restaurants, we checked out a few but mostly ate takeout from some of the above mentioned spots for our shabbos food, which were all good. But especially Cheskie’s bakery which was fantastic. It’s not near anything else but make it a priority. There are other options out in the suburbs, like cote St. Luc, but in the city area if you’re looking for someplace to walk and eat a bunch head to Outremont, which has a bunch of these places and a number of chasidishe shuls.

If it’s your thing, the Fine Arts Museum is good and if the weather cooperates take a walk up Mt. Royal to see an amazing view of Montreal. And we went to the biodome, which was fun but only took a little more than an hour (although I presume more if kids are involved). If you’re going to the old Olympic Park, where it is, I’d suggest you get the two-fer pass and go to the planetarium as well. The botanical gardens are also right near there, and they seem nice, but...it’s Montreal in the winter. Enough said. And for us it was relatively warm. Hopefully we’ll get to see it another time, but in July.

Tl;dr Go. It's nice in November but it's better in the summer. See everything by walking around everywhere, eat everywhere you can.

Is there any type of parking pass you can get in Montreal that allows in and out privileges at multiple garages?

Is there any way to get the Montreal Pass for cheaper? Is it worthwhile if we are going to be in Montreal for 4 days? (I realize it's a 3 day pass, we plan to go to Ottawa one day)

How easy is public transportation to use? We are staying at the Residence Inn near Mont Royal and it seems like all the kosher restaurants are 20-30 minutes away using public transportation.

Also, we will be heading to Mont Tremblant for shabbos when we go, does the chabad offer shabbos lunch? Does anyone have any other useful information about shabbos in Mont-Tremblant?

Thanks!

The metro is excellent in Montreal, very efficient. Uber is cheap and plentiful there too.
