Montreal food recap. Was there for 4 days for work:

- Cheskies (Dairy pastries FTW. Pareve rogalach/mini babkas nothing to write horn about)

- Deli 365 (poutine was meh because the gravy was bad, pastrami sandwich excellent)

- Yakimono sushi (eat in) - sushi top notch, lives up to reputation as being a top place quality-wise.

Ambiance is not good at all both indoor and outdoor. Cocktails were excellent as well.

- Noraka Asian (general tso average, noodles, dumplings, and stir fry dishes were excellent)

- Le falafel - really good. Had both falafel and schwarma. Fries also excellent as is the norm in Montreal.

- District Bagel - bagels are worse than a good NJ/NY bagel. Lox is top notch.

To say that Montreal style bagels like district Bagel and Home Made etc. are worse than a good NY bagel is pure blasphemy.

I've yet to have a good NY bagel. Only passing ones.

This town keeps on changing.

Every time I come to visit, the changes from when I was growing up is more striking.

על טעם וריח אין להתווכח.

I can't talk about bagels cuz I don't eat 'em, but the food options in Montreal in general is quite limited when you remove sushi from the equation

Is montreal car friendly?
Is it easier to get around by the metro or a car? I am going with a 3yr old
Another question is whether the metro is kid-friendly (she walks well)

Metro is great and kid friendly. Regarding car vs metro, you need to consider where you are staying and what you plan to visit, and look at the metro map. The city itself is car friendly (just use Waze, and some signage might only be in French) and you cannot make right turns on red lights on the Island of Montreal
