Best laptop deal

Hi hoping some one can help.  Im looking to purchase a laptop and after 4 hours surfing still have no idea what a good deal, company, or specs are!! just need a laptop for my son to use for a internet based speech activated homework/therapy program (he is disabled) the laptop need no real features except portability ..internet, disk drive (no netbooks) and ability to handle alot of web usage.  Thanks

wats the ur price range? although it sounds to me like ur looking in the $350 area......there was recently a deal for HP laptops aprox $350 and good for all the stuff u listed. yet it was simple meaning graphics and speed arent amazing......but u said u dont care about that

the ones on dans page seemed pretty pricey.. i think i do need speed just not graphics etc...can you reccomend a brand (ex..acer..hp..gateways etc...) many thanks for responding

I think you should shop by price. Anything in the $350-400 price range should work. Just make sure it doesn't have an Intel Atom processor. Even a Celeron 900 would work (though $400 for a Celeron 900 isn't a great deal).

the speed should be fine for u....it just wont be a gaming laptop.......i personally would look at Dell first then look at HP.....although if u look around enough u should be able to find a deal with either.......just stay away from acer, their not good. if u find a deal and want advice just pm me a link and i'll help u out as much as i can....good luck!
