SPG and Hyatt point values
« on: January 11, 2015, 09:23:34 AM »
Looking to book a hotel in nyc using either spg points or Hyatt points.  What type of value should I use as a minimum when using either type of currency when comparing to just paying on my cash?

It varies by why you want to use the points for.
The general consensus of travel bloggers seems to be something like 2cpp for spg points and 1.7cpp for hyatt.

Personally i would try to maximize the cpp and use whichever point currency gives the best value.
If you get significantly less than the above values it would make sense to just book with cash.
Also check out the hyatt cash+points option as that can be a better deal.

Make sure to factor in taxes - you pay no taxes on point bookings.

How much are Hyatt points worth in general.
