@ nirc: I've been on 3 cruises with Carnival, RC and NCL. Comparing RC to Carnival is like comparing Park Hyatt to Motel 6!!!! It is worth the extra money for RC!!!

To me the ship is more important then the Destinations they stop at. Most islands are similar with similar activities. In fact the comedian on my last cruise joked about how they just sail from one side of the island to the other and change the sign!!

And how do you compare NCL to RC?

2. One  of the excursions offered by Carnival today was a tour of the Allure!!!

Lol :D

NCL is not as good RC but definitely very decent. I would recommend it. What I liked about NCL is that they serve you restaurant style when ever you want instead of having official meal times.

You can always request that you be "served" your food at anytime dining on RC. Though you would have had to pre-order the food.

True, however you would have to wait a while for a table at times.

Anyone with a relatively positive experience with Carnival? specifically, for a low price, short trip out of Miami...
I understand, that RC Allure or the like dwarfs a small carnival ship in every possible way, but then again its not a valid comparison (7 days, $1000+)

Booked the MSC from Miami to Bahamas. It's 2 nights.  The dates are the only reason  I had to book that one as no other cruises would fit into arrival and departure plans.

I gotya. I have similar issue...It looks like a nice ship, just rather short.
-did you request kosher food? they say to book 2 months in advanced?!

Also, anyone recommend the site icruise?  somehow they are showing a RC leaving miami Jan 12, for about half what others are charging- $400 v $800 (for interior for 2) plus "$100 on board credit"....!

I booked it this past Monday on the phone and they said 20 days in advance  I'm just under but he said no problem. They are supposed to call me about it but as of this past Friday they didn't so I called them. There is a note in my record and he said they should be calling me or emailing me on Monday.

No- the cheapest room. Hoping they'll get upgraded.
Did you make a decision yet?

doesnt sound like it, they said they have to order frozen meal.

websites says have to order 2 month in advanced, one CS rep said 21 days, another 14 days....

also they have been inconsistent whether can bring any food on board, one rep said absolutely nothing, another said can bring packaged...
