I just remembered Arele Samet is really good (though he's probably not cheap, and I'm not exactly sure where he lives).
Lives in Beit Shemesh & very very expensive!!!

Sounds like you have a very subjective opinion. There's something more here.

my brother is friggin AWESOME

Shmueli Ungar: 845.248.8723
he sings at all types of weddings (and bar/bat mitzvas, sheva brochos, events, concerts, etc). Usually in chassidishe havura (sp?)
charges $1400-$1600 depending on location (obviously not including overtime, mitzvah tantz, or chupah but is negotiable).

How much do those choirs like Hamezamrim et al, go for (general price-range)?

I used mezamrim last year for a shabbos and they charged $1100 a person (5 guys) for the whole shabbos. Not sure exactly how much they are for a wedding.

It depends. You want Chupah, meal, dancing...?
For all 3 with Shira its $800 per singer. They are one of the best choirs out there right now (my brother sings with them occasionally and most shabbosim)

Why would you take hamezamrim when you can take shira???
Even though they cost more!
They're way way better! !!!

That's a matter of opinion.
Shira is definitely more professional and does better harmony.
I guess it's a matter of opinion if you don't like a more professional choir.
