In Google photos I added a bunch of photos into albums. Now I want to transfer them to an SD card but I don't see the option to do that. Any advice? ( I don't know if this is relevant but I want to put on SD card bec I got a new phone and want to move it to the new phone)
Aren't they all online? (So you don't need to move anything with an SD card, just sign in the new phone with Google Photos to the same account.)

That's what putting it in an album does? So if I remove from album the picture is erased? Is there a way to download a whole album?

Not only putting it in an album does this. Having Google Photos did does, syncing the photos to backup, including for albums.

If you have a computer, login to Google photo on a web browser to see that the photos are there

So there's no storage of the pictures on my phone? Photos stores it directly into the cloud?

By Default it does leave it locally on the phone itself as well. (But sometimes suggests to Free up Space by deleting the local copies.)

Is there a way to make a shortcut to the homescreen for a folder using the google files app?

Don't believe so, the focus of the app is clearing up data. There is probably something out there though.

I get these spam/phishing emails constantly to an email of mine. The ones that say you won XYZ in weird symbols.

I just ignore them since it's not an important email address. But just today I searched for a very specific product on my phone and I got another email shortly afterwards stating I won that item.

So I suspect that there is some sort of spyware on my phone.

Do I download some antivirus app to check? Do a factory reset?
My Tapatalk notifications don't always work.

Not directly answering, but kind of sounds like a marketing agency connected your Google ad id with your email address.
Maybe turn off targeted ads and tracking etc in your Google account if you haven't already?

I've been try to sort pix of my kids into individual folders on my SD card but it turns out I've only been sorting them into albums. Any way to move from the albums into folders without having to go thru all the pix again? I have a samsung phone

My Google storage is full. If I erase pictures from Google photos how do I make sure the pix will stay on my device?

Best way to transfer pics and other files from phone to sd card?

I tried using "my files" file manager through cut and paste and ended up losing most of the pics (they were deleted from the phone and didn't properly transfer to sd card- showed up as empty files), but thankfully had them all on my old phone.

Would using gallery be better?

Always copy and paste and delete after.

Agreed, I definitely learned my lesson from that.

But even after copying and pasting, I would need to make sure that all of the (thousands) of files still open.

I'm also wondering if that means there's something wrong with my card, how do I know my files won't suddenly disappear?

You can zip it and check the checksum.

Think my phone has been hacked. I want to do a full factory reset. I did a google drive back up and a samsung cloud backup. Is that enough to make sure everything will be reloaded onto my phone after the reset? How do I load everything back on after the reset? Will it go automatically after i sign in?
