Get NEXUS solves the problem kids can go with.
Does anybody reimburse for it? I know amex does not.

Fyi- not sure if it's because they're kids, but I applied for GLobal Entry for my kids this morning and a few hours later I got the conditional approval/ schedule appointment email.

And on erev yontif no less!

Nothing to do with your kids. I applied last week and got an email of approval the next day. And I went down last night for the interview. The whole think took 2 and a half mins. And I woke up this morning to see an email that the account is activated. Even though the agent said it can take up to a week for me to receive it.

Upto a week to receive the card which you don't need

I was told 2 weeks for the card, one week for the email confirmation of approval.

Maybe for the "confirmation", they don't have the fastest email system.....

Approval is right when you leave the interview, you can use it as of that moment

Could be but that's not what the agent who interviewed me told me.

You can use it to enter the US by land/sea from Canada (and use the nexus lanes), Mexico etc.

Or I like to use it when I'm asked for ID, and to be told, "we only accept govt issued IDs (remember the TSA with the DC drivers license?)

I was also told it was useable right away.

When I applied it took at least a week or more to get the scheduling email.

Officially you can't do GE when you're traveling with a child that doesn't have GE, if you do so they can revoke your GE for life, I wouldn't try without asking an officer first
Revoke for life? Did you ever hear that from someone?

Did it on Sunday. Less than 15 minutes in and out at EWR.

Awesome! What did they ask for a baby? You didn't have to wait at all? They just let you in?
