Moish, are you that gullible?! C'mon how much more do you think it costs (my guess is zero- you aren't charge by "ink content), possible he meant that the cost of redesigning is too high - also improbable as they anyway redesign their labels once in a while so they should do it then. Rather, I think the reason is because unlike in the US, many of the EU companies do not pay for supervision (instead the kehilla provides it as one of its services) as it is not worth it for them from a  cost/gain point. Additionaly it may be that they fear a backlash if people see something jewish on their labels.
are you kidding? i sincerely hope you are

No offense, but that isn't much of an argument.

I'm not taking sides, all I'm saying is that he has a valid argument. "Are you kidding me" is a pretty weak counter point.

Look at this article from the Star K's Kashrus Kurrents. http://www.star-k.org/kashrus/kk-STICKERSHOCK.htm
Apparently, "without a doubt, one of the most costly expenditures in food manufacturing is the packaging material."

its not the cost of the ink its the mentality. even in the US big companies will not put any extra words on the package. that's why the ou will simply put a OUp or a OUd.
