Does anyone know anything about flying with a stop over in Azerbaijan. there are good deals to israel through that airline but wanted to know what people knew of it and its safety etc.thanks
not an issue. they have very good diplomatic relationships with israel and are a friendly country.you need a visa if you want to leave the airport. costs around $30
Visa is a bit more costly then that, and needs to be arranged in DC well before hand
-1you can do it online

Still needs to be send it, this is not called online....You don't need to go down to DC, it can be mailed as well, I have been thru this process
All I'm saying is that you don't have to go to DC
I just posted that it can be mailed, no need to go down. But it's a process of a few weeks
Ok sounds good.
Did you make an Azerbaijani visa once?
havent, would love to though. Just sold a flight to a client who wanted to stop there and had to research the whole process. He's doing a stop for a few hours but won't leave the airport so he doesn't need one in the end.
Ran into some issues while at it, so I said to whoever I was talking on the phone, "get me your supervisor", she replied, I'm the consulate general, whoops...
for anyone who has been to Azerbaijan, what do you recommend doing on an 11 hour stopover. was thinking of just crashing in hotel but is there anything worthwhile to do there not too far?
Your going to go through the whole visa hassle for 11 hrs?
would I need a visa to go to airport hotel? crashing on airport seating isn't an option for 11 hour stopover
