Now I tried applying for the second US Airways through a refferal that is expiring today. Checked application status and got:

very hard to get approved for a card if you already have that open. easiest to just close, wait a couple of days then apply for the new one.

ok thanks, that I ive done but Im afraid if I close it and wait a week the card wont be offered anymore....

I got approved, and several days later found out that I got approved for another one, even though I never applied for it. It must have been a glitch. I posted upthread when it happened. The second was a different FFN.

I applied for one a while ago when it was still 40k and then when the 50k came out I cancelled the card and waited about a week and half and then reapplied... I was instantly approved

I got instantly approved for this card in early December. After skimming through this thread it seemed that it's possible to get a second one if you get instantly approved again... So today I applied for a second one (without ever closing or downgrading my first one), It said they need to do more review they'll get back to me within 30 days :-(

Is there any chance they'll approve me for this second card?
If not did it cause a hard pull and would I be able to get it off?

PUTPAC, also check out the Barclays recon thread. I didn't have any success with recon when I wasn't instantly approved, but your luck/rep could be different!

Called Recon and they said that it was automatically denied by the system being that I just got the same card a month ago, and no credit pull was done... :-)

I also got the card in December for myself and my wife. Switched both to Arrival cards today, but they will show as USAir for at least another day, or maybe until we receive and activate the Arrival cards.
I applied again for USAir today and was declined, I think I'll take my chances and wait until my existing account shows as Arrival, and then recon this application. (I suspect like you they didn't bother to pull my credit)
As mentioned upthread, I'm obviously taking a chance b/c officially the terms say the bonus needs to be offered still when the account is approved....

Got my card in June, didnt downgrade ..just applied for 2 card and got instant approval
