Just got matched for the 50k but I have to spend $1k. She read me of her screen where it said anyone who applied from sometime in May can be matched to 50k after $1k spend.

US airways is doing ALL it can to get new customers for its CC and will retain existing customers. We both called about AF in 2 months. Quick calls resulted in 5k miles and $fee waiver credit for $1k spend on both of our cards.

you made a mistake of accepting the 5k offer already.
Normally, once you accepted one retention offer, they won't give you a 2nd one.
They could tell you well, I see that you called and we already gave you 5k offer and I don't have anything else.

Next time, be smart and don't accept something right away on first call unless the offer is really good!
