Next question: just called and was offered an additional 5,000 points upon spending 1,000 over 3 months, or double points per dollar up to 8,000 points for gas, groceries and utilities. Is Target considered a grocery store for the purpose of this calculation?

Yes, I said I wanted extra miles in my account, and I said I felt bad that I had missed out on the referral bonus miles opportunity etc, so the rep offered me those 2 options, and allowed me to have that added to my husband's account as well (chose the 5k bonus for 1k spend, don't know why I was hesitating!)

When applying for this card how do i make sure that the ff# after the merge will end up in new AA account and not in mine wich is dirty?

so how did everyone get the fees waived so easily
i guess with the benefits and the 50k miles, its still worth the $89
but would prefer not to pay it
