Is there a utilization history on your CR?

Everyone talks about paying down your bill except for a few dollars. Is there a 'history' of utilization in your credit file, or is it just for the current month?

AFAIK current month, your monthly 'bill' is on your report, but as long as you have a good payment history I'd assume the higher the balances the better, as long as your current utilization is good.

The score is just for the most recent month, but my TU report shows my highest balance and monthly balance.
