Wondering when a bona fide mileage run thread will be launched on ddf...kinda overdue
Dying sport.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Dying sport.
Having more interest in it is what makes people find ridiculously cheap fares. And FD's.

An associate asked me to look into this. He wants to re-qualify for AA EXP. He currently has 40k miles and 44k points.
The only way would be to do a mileage run or few.

I'm just looking for answers, not whether it's worth it for him (he's an older guy "stuck in his ways").
He's based out of Miami, so I was thinking of something like FLL-CLT-LAX-NRT RT in First (AA P class).

From what I understand, his current EXP would help things move faster, is this true? Also, would flying in Business or First help as well?
Which miles / points earned would qualify for status?

Don't think so, but would give him more redeemable miles.

Also, would flying in Business or First help as well?
Yes.

Which miles / points earned would qualify for status?

That's redeemable miles, not EQM/EQP

i would say if money isn't the issue book business and qualify with eqp that routing in p class would yield 16414 eqm and 32828 eqp

And to pad it off, take advantage of NYC-DFW-GRU (13k EQM) for <$500. Can leave tomorrow.

So basically, find the cheapest route covering the greatest distance, then count each miles flown x2 since since he's EXP

but you only get half of the eqp for discount economy so he'll need to make a decision which one he wants to qualify with

I said EQM, because it wouldn't make sense to do that for the EQP. Unless OP's friend is on a fast track that requires you to use EQP, he could qualify w/ EQM.

NO. x2 is only for redeemable miles, not for qualification

Does he have any SWU to apply to the MR? That can make a Y route more bearable.
