Check to see which ones your doctors take. Then move along from there.

is the bottom line that if my job offers health insurance I shouldn't even waste time looking on marketplace?

Anyone else get their projected bills for next year and see 30-40% increases?

you can look, but you are legally not elegible for a subsidy if your employer or spouses employer offers you health insurance

Maybe the company plan is very expensive and too much for your needs. If yes, then look at marketplace and save some money.

you could go to the exchange and buy a plan there but you will not be eligible for a subsidy without lying and saying that your employer does not offer health insurance. the only way out is if the employers plan is if the employer plan does not meet minimum value standard, (which is highly unlikely)

Right. The quotes I got on market when selecting yes to "employer offers insurance" were $1k+ month!
When selecting no they were closer to $500

Does anyone know of any insurance policy that can be bought for a NJ resident that also covers Dr's in NYC?

A family member just got a letter that as of 2016 they no longer cover NY Dr's.

This is kinda urgent.... TIA

I would recommend calling a broker who deals with both marketplace and regular plans. I think Cosmos advertised that in Lakewood. Bikur Cholim and the like may be able to help with that as well. If there is a business to put the plan under it should make it easier.

These plans are absolutely awful. I'd never purchase them in the pre Obamacare days.

And why exactly is this Obama's fault ?

Premiums have always been going up. Forever. They were constantly going up far higher. They were going up almost 50% pre Obamacare. In fact Obama care has managed to try to keep a lid on those raises.

Obamacare might not be the best we got, but it surly is contributing to keeping healthcare costs down.

You're crazy. My non-Obamacare premiums go up way more per year post Obamacare than they used to and they say outright it's because of all the new things and people that they're forced to cover.

Speak to professional bookeepers that do payroll.
Preniums have always gone up.
It's nice and cute to blame Obama, but it's always been this way.

The annual percentage increases are much higher now.
My own experience is confirmed by dozens of articles saying the same thing.

Nothing to do with cute, forcing insurers to cover more people, older kids, and more treatments with no lifetime max has a real cost.

That's all private, never mind the insurers bailing out of Obamacare due to losses.

This statement sounds absurd. Whether it's good or bad for society, and whether anyone gains from it, is debatable, but saying that it's keeping healthcare and insurance costs down isn't.
