Thoughts?
Supposedly they are only one vote short in the Senate.
I cant find a better right up of the bill to get more details.

Pre-existing Confusion: WSJ

One paragraph special for Ex-Gingi

Quote
This debate is also distorted by a misunderstanding of health risks. The actuarial probability that a healthy person will become sick is already priced into premiums, meaning it is true insurance for unknown future health outcomes. People with pre-existing conditions don’t need insurance—they need help paying for expensive treatment that is already known.

The progressive view of healthcare......

https://www.theguardian.com/society/2014/jun/17/nhs-health?CMP=share_btn_tw

Quote
The NHS has been declared the best healthcare system by an international panel of experts who rated its care superior to countries which spend far more on health.
..........
The only serious black mark against the NHS was its poor record on keeping people alive.

From what I am seeing this is my take on Obamacare:

- The 20% on the top can afford all their medical expenses and did not get affected by the additional costs.
- The 20% on the bottom anyway had Medicaid and didn't gain anything from Obamacare.
- The 5% above the 20% who earned too much for medicaid are the only winners since Obama care gives then coverage at a reduced cost.
- The other 55% from lower to upper middle class got royally screwed!!!!!!

Now that Trump is trying to change things back to the way they were, the Liberals and most of the media who want him to fail at all costs are claiming that people in the 5% will die......... This totally ignores common sense reasoning that 55% of the people are suffering with unaffordable premiums, deductibles and co-pays for the sake of the 5%!!!

Agreed, but what exactly is trump changing? Nothing...

Still pre existing (non governor will make the unpopular decision to opt out)

small cuts to medicaid...

Still taxing the young and healthy to pay for everyone else...

Still screwing the middle class...

Unless im missing something...

nope, unfortunately you are not missing anything, if the house plan were to get passed by the senate (it wont bec there are even more RINOS there, so it will be even more watered down and more liberal) trump will own it and it will keep getting worse.

there is nothing about their plan that is a replace and repeal, it is basically  obamacare with minor tweaks. it is still against the basics laws of insurance, you cant have guaranteed issue (coverage of pre-existing conditions) and community rating and have a reduction in premiums!

Yup,

as ben shapiro said, healthcare is not a right, but the republicans have joined the democrats and decided that it is.

He says out of 3 things, you can only have 2 regarding healthcare-  affordability, availability, quality.

Something needs to be done, my premiums are about 800 a month (went up 15% since last year and coverage got worse) and I'm paying another 1000 between copays, coinsurance, and vision and dental. It's killing me, I think 10 times before taking my kids to the Dr. but what am I supposed to do if my kids complaining about something!
Anyone have any ideas on how to get on to jerseycare?

Big fan of Ben Shapiro but don't agree with him on healthcare. Economically (affordability), having a single payer system gives economies of scale, thereby reducing costs.
From the perspective of availability and reliability, there are many Western countries with single payer systems that have patient outcomes on par with good US hospitals. I think that Republicans are too boxed in on this issue.

What's the drawbacks of NY essential plan compared to Medicaid (besides the $20 a month and small copays)?

Is child health plus the same as Medicaid?
