On my drive LA -> Grand canyon I was in cruise control at 106. The car started to shake if you drove it faster

Awesome TR. Was there last year on the DL Glitch and you bring back amazing memories. Winding down OC Canyon was the thriller of the year!

Also tried 110 on return from GC. While passing someone and returning to my lane, i hit one of the grooves between the lanes and my car also took a not so nice jump. Boy did i learn my lesson! Stayed under 95 from then on :-)

Night driving was very difficult indeed considering i did a rt drive from phoenix to GC in one day.
Oh boy! you did too much driving in one day... I can't imagine someone driving 4 hours and then enjoying the GC... I have a cool "OC Canyon drive" video from my camera which was mounted to the windshield, Someone tried uploading it on YouTube so i can share it here but it doesn't work  :(

I really enjoyed this thread. Thank you for all the details. I am looking to do precisely this trip and since your on DDF I'm assuming you used cards/ points Ect for at least some parts of it. Can you advise on what cards/ points you used for your car, hotel, tickets. Where and what was the best deal? Thank you

Used 25k Avios for way going and flew US airways. 50k A"A for way back flew US airways (i would've gone with United but didn't want to pay the toll to NJ ) car from Hertz via usaa $180 (the taxes are extremely a lot in PHX) deducted from Barclay's Arrival travel points. And Hotel booked on Kayak $236 also deducted from Barclay's.

25k per a ticket one way? You booked it on BA website?

Nice TR!

BTW, if NY would have the same amount of snow and ice as AZ there would be less construction in NY as well. Tolls are officially to pay for this maintenance and plowing etc.

Slightly OT, but if that's the point of tolls why does OC, CA have tolls? They don't have snow.

That's quite an aggressive itinerary. Aren't you better off doing fewer things and spending more time? Especially since you're traveling with an infant?

What do you mean "see Sedona"?
You can drive to airport rd where there is a gr8 view. Or you can hike up Bell or Cathedral rock. You can also take a helicopter tour. The jeep tour is more for the fun than "to see"
