United has an annoying policy that unaccompanied minors can be booked only on non-stop flights. [This is presumably due to last year's fiasco, where inept United workers lost children. In typical United fashion, the problem is "solved" by taking away the option altogether.]
A phone agent just told me that I can book two connecting flights as separate tickets, and then it is not a problem to have my child travel unaccompanied. To me that sounds crazy, so I just wanted to know if anyone with knowledge about this can chime in.
