Which United Flights have TVs
« on: December 11, 2014, 02:31:10 PM »
I fly very often between EWR and LAX, and I usually fly united. Is there any way to know prior to selecting my flights, which planes will have TVs? (It makes the cross country trip so much easier)!

If you use a travel agent, they can tell you ;-)

How about if I don't use a travel agent. (No offense, its usually quicker to just book it myself. No savings to be had using a travel agent IME)

Airbus flights have WiFi with streaming entertainment for your own device.
737-800s have DirecTV and a 50% chance of Wifi
737-900s have DirecTV and a 90% chance of Wifi
757-200s have Video/TV on demand and a 10% chance of WiFi

However there's a small chance of 737s without DirecTV as new planes are no longer getting DirecTV as United is shifting to streaming entertainment.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

No offense taken.

I do not remember the type of planes. Last year I flew UAL from EWR-LAX RT
EWR-LAX 757 a few monitors down the aisle.
LAX-EWR Red-eye 737 no TVs at all.

This is prob why the OP has some concern.

It all depends on what equipment is going to be used. Airline has a specific aircraft scheduled for it but that is subject to change. You can always call the airline.
