A liar is someone who tells an untruth on purpose.  What if he had inside info and was just leaking what he heard?!  Should he not leak/take a chance in the future just in case it may not be true?  What if it is?  He specifically said "I heard".   

We are the fools who wanted to believe, not he who passed on info that he believed was/could have been true.

Think twice before you burn your bridges with any other inside info like his US Air 50k leak that turned out true.
