Am I the only one who isn't blown away? I mean if you were planning on a bunch of short hauls, then ya this is great, but otherwise, I feel like moving MR/UR is risky if you don't have a trip in mind. Obviously, you'll always have a need for a short haul, but why stock up? What if you want to go somewhere big in a year but you just transferred 50K away?

Personally, i think i am going to use this to make fly using BA instead of AA longhaul if KE does not come back as a UR partner. The reason for that is... i will be flying with <2 year old and would only pay 10% of award on BA instead of 10% of price with AA. So even if BA miles will come out more, the 40% promo will cut that down.

I think it makes sense for me, but if someone sees a flaw, let me know.

I feel like everyone different point selling/redeeming styles will tackle this differently, but to me BA is pretty versatile anyway, and I like to sell points, with lots of local domestic coach travel and the occasional (once per year or less) international trip. So the only reason to keep MR which are now less valuable (assuming 1.35 MR after the promo ends and 1.1 BA although I could be off on those) is for the non-BA transfer partners of MR. Not so concerned about those and I can always earn more of those after this promo.

If you use avios on a regular basis (and many of us do)  this is huge
