Wow, no excitement about this?? To me that sure makes it seem a lot easier to get to Mauritius and Maldives!

Nice! EY and some others don't offer F to MLE as well.

JFK-FRA-MLE seems easier (to find avail and deal with the travel) than JFK-DXB/AUH-???-MLE.

You mean FRA not LHR. And Not for me btw. Probably same travel time, and I'd choose EY/EK F/J over LH F/J.

Not everyone believes that EK F is better than LH F.

Fixed. Wtvs different strokes for different folks. My 24 year old self who flew <10 times in his life prior to this year was blown away by UA J EWR-MUC.

Tough luck. Never thought I would fly in business. To me flying lie-flat was amazing and I don't think I will notice all the details on flying in a seat that's a bit wider with less ppl in the cabin and just as bad KSML. Again, to each their own.

All I know is that I don't want to sit in a cramped seat when flying long-hauls. I don't care how fancy it is. SQ Suites is the exception bc I think flying together "privately" could be cool.

Tough luck? Not sure what  that means in this context. Sure hope is not my tough luck to end up in UA J:D
If you flew some of the superior ones your would absolutely notice the differences. We all (at least i speak for myself) started out with the same theory as you. Enjoy it while it lasts

I also remember being blown away by UA J EWR-TLV and that was in the pre lie-flat days :D  What a difference 7 years makes...

But the difference between UA Y and UA J is smaller than the difference between UA J and CX F.

I guess we'll have to wait and see if I ever get there.

My point is that I imagine (and I say that bc I haven't flown fancier than UA J) if on a scale of 1-100, flying coach rates a 50 in terms of comfort/quality, then I would say flying UA J rates a 90 and the fancier airlines are 95-100. But I'm super content with a 90.

Perhaps that premise is where we differ. I wouldn't give flying longhaul coach a 50. More like a 10 or 15. Leaves a lot more room for those that are actually comfortable. Not to say that UA J is not comfortable... It just doesn't compare. I would say the same about UA F.
