want to hear something crazy? i put on hold an award ticket (aa) tlv-yyz on lets say march 1, and jfk-tlv on may 4, both in biz with the hold expiring jan 4 at 11:59p.  in the interim, i put a reservation on hold with a travel agent tlv-yyz on feb 24 biz, and the rest coach, yyz-lax, lax-jfk, and jfk-tlv on may 3.
anyways when i went to ticket the ticket on aa, the reservation was cancelled! apparantly elal flagged it as a duplicate reservation even though the dates werent the same nor the class of service.

AA is very aggressive with catching dupe bookings.  Continental is not at all.

Sometimes I think they are a little too cautious lemashal my dad once had elal cancel a rountrip ticket to israel because he had a diff ticket booked already for a diff time (both tix were legit)

Possibly true. You can try again, they don't always catch on. Last summer I had a few overlapping dates, and nothing got cancelled within 21 days.

b'h in my situation nobody chapped them up so i was able to rebook. i just posted the incident as a psa
