halachically-if you use timers, then this should be no different

Practically, more from a safety perspective.  Although this is supposed to be safe, shuts off if the intake or blower gets covered, I'm not comfortable with it being on overnight in a living room when all are asleep.  Maybe a standing one is safer.

I don't see why it should be a problem.
Just make sure you use a three prong timer if it has a three prong plug.
