and when it doesn't go against halacha
+1. I hate it when everyone pulls out the ethics and moral card. What you feel is ethical or not is irrelevant once there's a halacha.

Pulling out the religion card makes it OK?  :P

That's correct. "Religion" has been the justification for immoral behavior since the beginning of man.

If you really feel that way then you can't blame other religions for doing things that you feel is immoral.

If it's טעות עכו"ם, then the only חיוב to return it is for the kiddush Hashem, and i highly doubt that the rep in a call center in India even knows what a Jew is.
ETA: In such a situation, it might be an איסור of לא תחנם to return it.
I once ordered a treadmill from amazon, and when it came damaged i refused the delivery and requested a replacement. They sent it, but they also refunded me since I never got the first one, and they didn't recharge me when they sent the second one. I asked my posek and was told to keep the money since the seller is not Jewish and there's no kiddush Hashem.
What about the חילול השם when you go brag about it in a public forum?

This is more a Chillul HaJews that a Chillul Hashem.
I don't judge God for the racism and tribalism of people, I judge the people.

How was I bragging? I merely told him the psak i received, and advised that what he did might not have been halachicly correct.

There is no way that returning the extra item violates lo sichanem

Really? You gave a non-Jew something which according to halacha is yours, and you are not getting anything in return. How is that not לא תחנם?
Excuse my terminology...
Oh, so what you meant is that I can't tell another Jew a halacha on a predominantly Jewish forum, because a non-Jew might see it and get upset?

Oh, so what you meant is that I can't tell another Jew a halacha on a predominantly Jewish forum, because a non-Jew will certainly see it, thus rendering my point moot?

Huh? Halacha doesn't change, no matter who will see it.

True. Besides for a couple that who would see it determines the halacha, like, I don't know, maybe chilul Hashem?

Eh. I think I'm checking out of this conversation before my head explodes. "The headphone jack is on the bottom!"

Yes but by posting that that is the halacha in an open forum could create חילול השם

That seems like terrible grammer to me, so I'm not sure exactly what you meant, but I'm guessing you meant something similar to @Yikes2179.
To answer, I don't think it's a חילול השם here, since I bet any non-Jew that's on DDF already knows this.

I wish I were able to, but unfortunately I don't think I'm going to make it that far. Especially since I just found a shtikel to say tomorrow.

LOL, no. The Brisker Rov's vort on ציצין שאין מעכבין and מהדרין מן המהדרין. Ties in well with ענינא דיומא.
