I once came home from Target and realized that I had forgotten to pay for an item that was in my kid's stroller, so I went back to pay for it. The woman at guest services looked at me like I was nuts when I explained to her what I wanted to do, so I jokingly said "what, has no one ever returned to pay for an item?". She started shaking her head no, but then her face lit up and she responded "You know what? A girl DID once come back to pay for something, and funny thing is she was Jewish too!".
Nice! And nice that she appreciated it.
I once bought a $350 copy/fax machine and a $60 cordless phone from Staples, I didn't like the phone so I went to return it. The cashier scanned the receipt, told me to swipe me CC and said I'll get a refund and gave me a receipt of the return.
On my way out I looked at the receipt and saw that he credited the $350 fax machine instead of the $60 phone. I went back and told him about his mistake and I was waiting for him to get amazed but it did
not happen... I asked him if he ever had a person come back for such mistake and he made it sound like it happens every other day...
