I actually had a great experience with Jet's customer service. They forgot to send one of the items in my order so I called them and they expedited me a new one and sent me a hand written note in the mail apologizing.

So they basically bought you with a hand written letter?

I made an order last week, ans yesterday i got an email that they can't fulfill one item (bought 3 of them), I searched it again and it was still available, so i called them up, and the told me that I can re-order it & they"ll refund me the shipping + smart cart savings i would've got via Jet cash (when they"ll open there site for everyone, you'll be able to use that as a payment method)

You sound like the guy 15 years ago saying that big retailers like Walmart and Target will crush Amazon like the bug they are.

A wise person would understand that there is currently monumental flaws in the current state of online retail, just like there was monumental flaws with our taxi system a few years ago (uber), just like there was monumental flaws with the vacation lodge market (Airbnb), and just like there was monumental flaws with SMS (what's app). And on and on.

You seem to be a negative Nancy about Jet which makes me question how much the affiliates from Amazon affects your outlook.

Customer service has already improved a lot.
Product selection is a non-issue until they launch.

A wise person would also understand that a big talking startup is not a guaranteed solution to the "monumental flaws".

Amazon is already operating on razor-thin margins. Even with the $99 prime fee that I pay each year, I fail to see how they make any money.

Because Amazon flushes away tons of income on failing billion dollar projects that have nothing to do with e-commerce.

Prime Video being the biggest money pit, then the Fire phone, AWS and so on.
If they just focused on their original core strengths they would be a lot more profitable today.

I have read a lot more than anyone here about the technology and the system that jet has put into place, and have tested it out hands on. As someone that sells online, I truly believe it will be successful unless they really screw up big time.

I'm not sure what you are talking about. I was referring to tangible goods that I buy from Amazon. After factoring in the S&S price plus the free two-day shipping (esp. Sunday shipping), I can't see where they are making any significant profit.

First of all Amazon prices as a whole aren't that cheap.

Now, if shipping from a nearby warehouse, even economy shipping will get there next day most of the time. And if not, Amazon still gets the best rates for shipping and they are dirt cheap.

Now if it's 3rd party fulfilled, Amazon is usually making a 15% referral fee which costs them nothing but the cost of the software infrastructure. And then of its FBA, amazon makes money on the fulfillment services they provide. And so on.
