Your ALOLing a Costco membership?
I get an annual refund check from Costco that's more than the membership fee.
I also cover my membership with the cashback. However, Costco's strategy is to make choices simpler by eliminating the many options per product type. The problem with that is that I can't get many of the "every day" products I personally like at a Costco store. For example: Tide with Downy, Tasters Choice French Roast, many kosher products from good non-Jewish brands (like BBQ sauce) etc.

I don't think you can compare shopping at Costco in Cleveland to shopping at Costco in NY, but then again there is google express, so that may trump all because if you include free shipping from Costco conversation is probably over.

I think the future of eliminating grocery shopping is Amazon Now, Google Express etc.

No one wants to shlep to a store and carry things home, also no one wants to have to bundle items together and only buy things when you need multiple items. Both have problems. The answer is Costco and others with free shipping within 2 hours.

So we can wait for Google's pipe dream to come to fruition (googles other commerce projects such as Wallet and Shopping are basically failures) and pay full price until then.
Or we can shop at Jet right now.
Or we can lug 99 packs of tissues and tide from Costco for the imaginary 50% off.

the fact that this thread is still in JS baffles me.

Why do you care about post count?

If having a discussion about the cheapest place to shop online for everyday items is considered shmoozing, so be it.
If sharing beta invites is considered shmoozing, so be it.
If discussing things that are wrong with Jet is considered shmoozing, so be it.

What will change if you and I had a higher number near our names?

Lakewood/Brick Costco sells regular Tide 170oz for $19.99.
Jet sells Tide with downy 92oz for $9.99 (SC makes it $7.55).

Jet is cheaper, and it's delivered to your door.

The Kirkland detergent is ranked as better than tide by CR.

That is debatable. But comparing apples to apples or even apples to oranges (Kirkland is a store brand so it can't really be compared), Kirland detergent 170 oz is $14.59. Jet still comes out cheaper.

2x 210ct Kleenex $4.98 (SC $3.60/1.80) (way cheaper than Costco, and cheaper than Amazon where you also need to buy 8 )
Wife actually just went to Costco today :D
10 packs of 230 Kleenex were $14.19.

Though the reason the membership there is a must (at least in CLE) is for the cheap kosher stuff, cheese, salmon, etc.

One more post:
The algorithm for the smartcart ( just added that to my phone dictionary) does not add up. when you have the number before you add it into your cart to the number that it gives you once in your cart and the number you lose when you delete it from your Cart is always changing. I can't figure it out.
Also if you manipulated enough it doesn't charge you tax but sometimes it does charge you tax.

It will always eventually charge the tax if the item is coming for a seller in your state.
I played around with it for a while and whenever I got to the checkout the tax would show up again.

So that people get credit for a thread full of bickering, invites, stickers, and handwritten notes?
This is really what's bothering you?

funny you both look at it that way, and sure I can see how my post comes across as that. I think before this I posted once, maybe twice in this thread so no I don't care about the post count.

I actually always felt like general discussion was for things that were practical and just didn't fit into a specific category. This thread feels very much to me like a pros and cons of jet vs amazon. similar almost to buying vs leasing. the fact that it was in the deals thread before was also weird to me but I had no desire to say anything. only once this was moved and now that it is become a realistic option for shopping (whether or not you will be using it) seems to be a general discussion topic.

It should probably be 4 threads.

Invites/invite requests/bickering in JS.
Year extension in GFST
Deals in Deals.
And pros/cons in GD.

But that's more effort than I care to exert right now.

Unless someone is from here they will never understand. If I went to Costco for cholov yisroel cheese alone it would still be worth it.
