Amazon is now starting to offer lower referral fees on certain items if they are at a certain low price.
This is very similar to how Jet gets their low prices.

So far we have seen Amazon copy 2 features that benefit sellers (and therefore consumers too).

Though unfortunately they copied the model of not every order being shipped for free.

I spoke with a seller that fulfills prime orders. He said Amazon is doing it to broaden the prime offerings, not to save money like Jet.

Prime has been available for non-FBA items for a while already.
This is straight out of Jets playbook.

After thinking it over, this feature is actually good for consumers too.
Sellers can offer cheaper prices for customers nearby.
And if there are sellers in all regions, an item can be bought for cheap anywhere in the US.

Those numbers are a bit shocking (though from only 1 seller), but hopefully it means we have a real #2 platform that can continue to scale.

Eta: wow! Just read through thread and understand that there will not be a ddms post anytime soon. Shame, because if Dan was into this he could really help a lot of people save... He has clear and detailed posts (that apparently half the commentors don't read).

I trust them...read what Channel advisor wrote about them. Already #4 marketplace for their sellers and quickly growing.
