That would be strange. There are some great credit cards that charge forex. No reason not to have them, just don't use them when traveling.

there have been tickets with differences of $100 or more...in those cases I've just booked via an israeli travel agent

the agent actually has 2 systems and books from whatever one shows a cheaper united ticket
