How long does it take for this challenge to "activate"?

You should get an email when it does. Give yourself 2 weeks at least before your flight.

How much would you guys say is the minimum that AA EP status is worth if you use the 4 SWU's for 2 NYC-HKG trips?

 I'm thinking the 4 SWU's are worth about $3k and then obviously the status is worth more the more you fly OW and get use of the free bags etc. I got to $3k considering that you can get RT Y fares on AA NYC-DFW-HKG for $590 and I value RT J from the US to Asia at about $2k considering you'll generally be using about $2k worth of miles and cash for a RT J ticket to Asia with miles. When I say "worth of miles," I'm referring to the amount of money that you can sell them for.

BUMP and one other question that I wasn't thinking about. Do you get 4 SWU's upon completing the EP challenge, or only upon qualifying for EP the conventional way of 100k EQM's?

I am Flying Lax-Lga June 5th in first class booked as an award ticket class Z. will I be able to play this challenge game and earn gold/plat/ etc... for this kind of booking. If so, how do I do it in a simplified way. I got a bit confused by the wiki post.

You don't earn PQM on award flights.

BUMP. I'm 6.5k EQM's away, and I need to complete them by May 31st to get EP. If someone can confirm that I'll get the 4 SWU's, I'll book a flight today and go somewhere nice this weekend.

last time there was a challenge they did give SWU for reaching EXP
