There are no Credit Cards that will cover Liability.
Visa, Amex, MasterCard and Discover will cover Loss Damage Waiver / Collision (CDW/LDW)

Cards that cover CDW/LDW in Israel:
Chase: Sapphire Preferred ($95 annual fee)
American Express Gold $195AF
Discover (accepted in Israel as Diners' Club): More, Open Road, Miles, Motiva (none have annual fees)   Policy link

You must present at the time of rental a copy of your policy or a document from the CC company stating that the insurance coverage applies to Israel . You will still have to purchase 3rd Party Liability, but you will save some shekels and have no deductible for damages.

Visa phone number : 800-VISA-911

Visa does NOT cover:
  • Cadillac Escalade
  • Mercedes GL series (they do cover GLK)
  • Mercedes E class
  • Corvettes
  • Camaro ZL1

AMEX premium will charge $24.95 per rental and they cover:
  • Up to $100K for damage or theft and accidental death or dismemberment coverage ($250,000 for California residents), up to $15,000 for excess medical expenses per person, and up to $5,000 for excess personal property coverage ($15,000 for Florida residents)
  • Any car from Mercedes, pickup trucks, Porsche and 15 passenger vans.
  • There's no need to pay for the full amount with money, even if it's with points or coupon rental and you pay just $2 fees they will still cover you.

Those that do NOT have a credit card insurance, here is an alternative:  https://worldwideinsure.org.

*UPDATE*
after A LOT of back and forth with amex, turns out they had all the documentation they needed to file the damages CDW claim. they pushed it off 100xs saying they needed more. I was emailing and calling budget asking for more info and then would realize that i had the info i needed. also, we realized that amex needed to get someone to translate some of the paperwork.
they finally paid the 8k in damages.
the other 3k, was in dispute for almost 3 months. i think the ppl from the CDW department ended up helping my dispute for the 3k, saying that this 3k "diminishment" charge was BS and they eventually sided with me, taking the charge off.

so after getting into the accident in July, they eventually paid and covered everything about mid Feb.

loooooong crazy saga, but the moral of the story is, you needa be in it for the long haul, spend a lot of time, and pray. i got a decent, somewhat reasonable claims adjuster from amex. this would not have worked out well if i got someone that was more of a stickler or lazy.
Happy to hear.

It definitely means that ppl need to be aware of this new charge and try to fight it from the getgo

B"H

If anyone can help me with this, would greatly appreciate it.

Rented using a BofA visa, and made a claim for collision for a rental. Unfortunately I missed the deadline of 100 days (I think is 110). I called and they said I can email them to dispute the decision.

Does anyone have any experience what situations they would accept as a legitimate reason to overturn the decision?

I did speak to them on the phone last month to discuss what I needed to do, (the rental company was taking a long time to get the paperwork) and they didn't make any mention of the deadline, made it sound like it wasn't a big deal.

I also was out of the office without access to my computer for several weeks because of Covid-19 stay at home order.

Thanks!!

Is there a master thread for which credit cards still offer insurance, if the insurance is primary, and if it covers in Israel. Would be great if there was a wiki that everyone can help fill in the info

I was rear ended in the beginning of July. Amex still doesn’t have all documents from hertz. Should I keep on nagging hertz or should I let things roll?

I rented a because my car was damaged, they requested my insurance and stupidly I gave.

Used saphire to rent, with enterprise.

The mirror cover disappeared ugh and when exiting a building, I searched door on curb.

How do I get them to go after chase cdw? I'm worried that they're going to make a big claim and it's going to exceed $500 on my personal insurance.

Want to return car tomorrow

Hi, I've never rented a car with points before.  If I rent a car through the Chase portal of my CSR is there any kind of insurance that I need to take with the car rental company?  or is it covered through Chase even though I'm not paying out of pocket for the car rental?

Personal Accident Insurance/Personal Effects Coverage (PAI/PEC) is offered at the time of rental for an additional daily charge. If accepted, the PAI contained in the policy provides renter and renter's passengers with accidental death, accident medical expenses and ambulance expense benefits. The PEC contained in the policy insures the personal effects of the renter, additional drivers or any member of the renter's immediate family who permanently resides in the renter's household and who is traveling with the renter against risks of loss or damage. Benefits are payable in addition to any other insurance coverage the renter or passengers may have. This is a summary only. PAI/PEC is subject to the provisions, limitations and exclusions of the PAI/PEC policy underwritten by Empire Fire and Marine Insurance Company in the United States or ACE INC Insurance in Canada. The purchase of PAI/PEC is optional and not required to rent a car. The coverage provided by PAI/PEC may duplicate the renter's existing coverage. National Car Rental is not qualified to evaluate the adequacy of the renter's existing coverage; therefore, the renter should examine his or her personal insurance policies or other sources of coverage that may duplicate the coverage provided by PAI/PEC.
This is from national's Personal Accident and Personal Effects Insurance (PAI/PEC).

My question is if I rent a car and add an additional driver, are they covered if I'm not in the car? And are my immediate family members driving without me covered?

Additionally it says "resides in the renter's household" does that go by the drivers license address?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Quick question. A friend rented a car from EZ rentals in Williamsburg and paid for it with an Amex everyday card. Fast forward a little later... He gets a flat tire and when he opens the trunk... The jack that was in the car was broken. He didn't have any AAA and chaveirim Monsey weren't able to send someone (this happened in Scarsdale, NY). He ended up having to pay a guy 75 bucks to change the tire. Is there any recourse with Amex to get money back from the rental company etc?
Still looking for a good MS method :)

I am trying to help someone from Israel who made a reservation(see below) for a car in Miami airport with their insurance options as this reservation seems a little tricky with their wording of full coverage below.  Their Full coverage does not seem to include CDW or theft protection  nor liability?

what do they mean "Damages to the car’s body and undercarriage"(sounds like CDW up to $3500?)
How do they go about securing liability insurance if they live in Israel?

The rental company doesn't sell it?
The big companies usually do
