There are no Credit Cards that will cover Liability.
Visa, Amex, MasterCard and Discover will cover Loss Damage Waiver / Collision (CDW/LDW)

Cards that cover CDW/LDW in Israel:
Chase: Sapphire Preferred ($95 annual fee)
American Express Gold $195AF
Discover (accepted in Israel as Diners' Club): More, Open Road, Miles, Motiva (none have annual fees)   Policy link

You must present at the time of rental a copy of your policy or a document from the CC company stating that the insurance coverage applies to Israel . You will still have to purchase 3rd Party Liability, but you will save some shekels and have no deductible for damages.

Visa phone number : 800-VISA-911

Visa does NOT cover:
  • Cadillac Escalade
  • Mercedes GL series (they do cover GLK)
  • Mercedes E class
  • Corvettes
  • Camaro ZL1

AMEX premium will charge $24.95 per rental and they cover:
  • Up to $100K for damage or theft and accidental death or dismemberment coverage ($250,000 for California residents), up to $15,000 for excess medical expenses per person, and up to $5,000 for excess personal property coverage ($15,000 for Florida residents)
  • Any car from Mercedes, pickup trucks, Porsche and 15 passenger vans.
  • There's no need to pay for the full amount with money, even if it's with points or coupon rental and you pay just $2 fees they will still cover you.

Those that do NOT have a credit card insurance, here is an alternative:  https://worldwideinsure.org.

Well, Yeah I did have to wait 11 months to get my money...
But I ended up getting double the amount due to a mistake they made  ;)

If I book a car using chase points, how does that work with credit card coverage on the rental?
Do I need to give my Chase card when I rent? Can I use my Amex with premium car rental protection? would they cover if paid with points?

Offline Thank you

How long do i need to wait between rentals when using chase freedom to be covered?

Amex requires 30 days between rental 1 & rental 2

Does anyone know what the rule is by chase?

Thank you

I'm booking a car through a rental agency that, based on the Google reviews, very often fabricates (or so they claim) charges of car damages. I have the Venture x, Chase SP, United Explorer, a few Inks, and others in the lower category. CDW is included in the rental, but I was wondering if any card with primary insurance will cover a potential claim or if my only option is to pay for "Super coverage" in which there won't be any issues.

What do you mean cdw is included? The rental is including or your credit card?

Rental is including. I'm assuming it's because it's mandatory so included in the quoted price.

If i reserve a car under my name and national account with my CSR, can I add my wife as a second driver if im not there? Will the CC insurance cover her if the primary driver isnt there?

As far as I know you can't add a secondary driver anywhere without the primary being physically present.

My BIL in bmg is looking for a credit card to cover cdw. He's canadian so can't get his own (american) card. I want to add him as a AU on my chase sapphire so he can be covered. Am I correct to assume that he will have primary cdw since he has no auto insurance policy even though I'm a NY resident? Does it make a difference when adding him as an AU where I'm saying he's living? (if they even ask)

On sapphire preferred its primary even if he had his own insurance. Just be aware that an insurance claim can be a big headache and isn’t gauranteed

(Not if the cardholder is a NY resident)
