There are no Credit Cards that will cover Liability.
Visa, Amex, MasterCard and Discover will cover Loss Damage Waiver / Collision (CDW/LDW)

Cards that cover CDW/LDW in Israel:
Chase: Sapphire Preferred ($95 annual fee)
American Express Gold $195AF
Discover (accepted in Israel as Diners' Club): More, Open Road, Miles, Motiva (none have annual fees)   Policy link

You must present at the time of rental a copy of your policy or a document from the CC company stating that the insurance coverage applies to Israel . You will still have to purchase 3rd Party Liability, but you will save some shekels and have no deductible for damages.

Visa phone number : 800-VISA-911

Visa does NOT cover:
  • Cadillac Escalade
  • Mercedes GL series (they do cover GLK)
  • Mercedes E class
  • Corvettes
  • Camaro ZL1

AMEX premium will charge $24.95 per rental and they cover:
  • Up to $100K for damage or theft and accidental death or dismemberment coverage ($250,000 for California residents), up to $15,000 for excess medical expenses per person, and up to $5,000 for excess personal property coverage ($15,000 for Florida residents)
  • Any car from Mercedes, pickup trucks, Porsche and 15 passenger vans.
  • There's no need to pay for the full amount with money, even if it's with points or coupon rental and you pay just $2 fees they will still cover you.

Those that do NOT have a credit card insurance, here is an alternative:  https://worldwideinsure.org.

you can use the premium  and pay with a different  cc afterwards  if there  is  no  damage

Up there. Yes (as long as the name of the primary renter is on the card used to cover the rental in its entirety).
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

I just got a letter from the claims processor that the (Jewish) rental company was paid over $7k for my claim. The damage looked to be $500-$750. Should I ask the rental place for a cut?

It has primary rental insurance. I don't know what you call the best (Amex premium covers up to 100k and assorted medical benefits and more vehicles than Chase, and Citi supposedly covers anything on four wheels), but it's certainly good, and likely perfect for your needs on a standard sedan or midsized SUV rental.

It's for a friend that I'm adding as an au that doesn't have a car so there's no other insurance to go to.

I was once driving my personal vehocle and hit a car from a Jewish car rental company. They claimed from my insurance and from the credit card insurance.

The credit card then tried getting the money from me as reimbursement. I let them know how they just got scammed.

I'm renting a premium full-sized suv in Maui this August for one week leisure trip.

Trying to decide which card to use for best coverage.

The cards I have and am considering to use based on research so far are:

Chase United Explorer (biz and personal)
Chase Hyatt
Chase Ritz

Citi AA Exec

Amex Pt enrolled in Premium Car Rental Insurance Program

Any suggestions appreciated.
