There are no Credit Cards that will cover Liability.
Visa, Amex, MasterCard and Discover will cover Loss Damage Waiver / Collision (CDW/LDW)

Cards that cover CDW/LDW in Israel:
Chase: Sapphire Preferred ($95 annual fee)
American Express Gold $195AF
Discover (accepted in Israel as Diners' Club): More, Open Road, Miles, Motiva (none have annual fees)   Policy link

You must present at the time of rental a copy of your policy or a document from the CC company stating that the insurance coverage applies to Israel . You will still have to purchase 3rd Party Liability, but you will save some shekels and have no deductible for damages.

Visa phone number : 800-VISA-911

Visa does NOT cover:
  • Cadillac Escalade
  • Mercedes GL series (they do cover GLK)
  • Mercedes E class
  • Corvettes
  • Camaro ZL1

AMEX premium will charge $24.95 per rental and they cover:
  • Up to $100K for damage or theft and accidental death or dismemberment coverage ($250,000 for California residents), up to $15,000 for excess medical expenses per person, and up to $5,000 for excess personal property coverage ($15,000 for Florida residents)
  • Any car from Mercedes, pickup trucks, Porsche and 15 passenger vans.
  • There's no need to pay for the full amount with money, even if it's with points or coupon rental and you pay just $2 fees they will still cover you.

Those that do NOT have a credit card insurance, here is an alternative:  https://worldwideinsure.org.

Did you bother trying to read through the last few pages of the thread, instead of making other people take their time to write it out again and clutter up the thread?

did you bother reading the question in its entirety?  Do the last pages of this thread address whether the non-annual fee version of United Mileage Explorer provides primary CDW insurance?

Well, it doesn't as discussed. Double check the terms on the Chase website.

Hi there. I've looked over the past few pages and cannot find the answer. I'm leaving to go fly out of Melbourne Australia for one week in November. I have the platinum business American Express card.  It states in the guidelines that this card does not cover rental car coverage in Australia. Which credit cards will cover a car? Should I do the damage waiver?

Chase cards, or Mastercard world cards should cover.

rented a jeep in Jfk Hertz for the week on points and used freedom for the airport fees. hit a tree, some major damage, can I pay at the end of the rental with a UA card and get the primary insurance to cover instead of my personal policy, or they will see the original freedom on the contract?

It won't help at this point.

Rented a minivan in Vancouver BC returning tomorrow in the US. Used amex platinum didn't add the premium coverage
Any way to add that now?
Or would my car insurance not cover since we started in Canada making the secondary from amex, primary?

I just called to check with Chase the British Airways card does give you CDW coverage in Israel. Can someone else confirm?

Yes this (and some other Chase cards) cover CDW, but they still make you purchase liability insurance in addition to that.

I have never seen any way around that.

I rented a car 2 weeks ago, and after starting the rental, thought I might need extra coverage and enrolled in Amex Premium Car Rental Protection. It seemed like it didn't go into effect for that rental since the charge had already been authorized earlier (which was fine since I didn't end up needing it). But the really weird part is that when the rental deposit posted on my Amex as a credit, there was an associated $20 credit listed as Premium Rental Car Protection. Anyone ever seen anything like this? (not that I'm complaining :-)

I rented a car on Israel using Chase csp, damaged the car, and the charge is more than my credit limit.
The rentals company said they tried to charge and it was declined.
I called Chase and they offered to make a cli.
What are my options?

I posted this on the hertz master thread but i believe it belongs here ...

I bought a certificate from someone on DDF for a premium car and used it for a rental in Orlando. When I returned the car, we had some dispute about the gas charges. I went to CS and they were able to waive the fuel charges. While doing so, she waived the other fees as well (motor vehicle fee, energy surcharge , etc.) So my total bill was $0. I was going to use my CSP for the taxes and fees.

The problem is, they found a scratch on the car and made me file a report indicating so. Since I didn't end up paying anything on the rental car at all. I tried calling back to get them to charge me the taxes and fees so that I can be covered with primary rental insurance from CSP but they refuse saying the bill has already been settled and there's nothing they can do.

Anybody have any ideas? Am I screwed?

UPDATE - I was able to get them to charge me the taxes and fees (~$7). If you need/want to know how, PM me. It may end up saving me hundreds of dollars.
