Help cancelling AT&T Wireless contract?

My wife and I have 6 months left on a 24 month family plan with AT&T.  We share 550 minutes, she has limited text messages and I have none. We got the cheapest phones they had when we signed up, and both have since died and been replaced by GoPhones.  We still pay around $90/month.  I want to drop AT&T and go to Virgin Mobile prepaid, pay the $200 for a blackberry, and get the full blackberry service for $35/month.

Any way to get out of the contract?  I know I've seen that they've changed the terms before, but have they done it recently?  Any other tricks I could use to get out of it?  I don't really want to pay them $85 per phone to get out of the contract.
