booked AA flight using avios- Luggage question

I booked an AA flight using Avios. We will need to check 3 pieces of luggage, and there are 3 of us flying. We are leaving in middle January. Anyone know if I apply for an AA credit card now, will I be able to get free luggage? How does that work?

These steps are actually outdated. If you go to manage my booking by BA & click request seat assignment you can add your aa # & anything else you may want

my additionals to my cc for some reason got free bags roundtrip by showing the desk their additional card.. not sure how soon they link your aa card to your aadvantage profile. dont think though it takes long

another way to make it work would be to swipe your AA CC when you check in for your flight in the airport

You can also add your AA advantage number when you get the CC card, At Royal Jordanian Airlines, Just you will have to have your passport info to add your AA number

In the airport you could ask the guy by luggage to add or change to your Aa number. It worked for me

No that's only united, AA only requires that your aa number is on the ticket

Question: Im found a round trip ticket from NY to LA on US air for $531...

1) does anyone want to do a miles swap deal?
2) It shows that it will land in an airport near lax. Anyone know which other nearby airport accepts commercial flights?
